Hold Me Hold You
In the middle of the night.
I just couldn't sleep, nothing was right.
Nothing to do but take a walk.
So my inner voice and I could talk.
The starry sky would help me find.
The place where heart connects to mind.
As my chest pounded right out loud.
This was a time to not be proud.
Love shows up deep in the night.
This is the time for that special light.
Where only hearts know how to see.
The way that things should really be.
Two weeks ago, I didn't have a clue.
That I'd be here thinking of you.
I guess you're just never prepared.
When love says it needs to be shared.
You find you're not too old to cry.
When in your heart you want to die.
Because the space between's too wide.
When all the math adds to divide.
Why does it seem someone else wins.
Am I just paying for my sins?
Must I die in my dreams alone?
Where my last breath is a lonely moan.
Hold me hold you to stop this shaking.
And stop this heart from all this aching.
Look me square, right in the eyes.
Til' the cloud of love opens and cries.
