Spring is a wonderful time of renewal. There is so much to see and enjoy especially in nature.

Hibernation The year was coming to an end, The animals knew well That it was time to hibernate In cave or wood or dell. A large supply of food was sought, A store for wintry days Of nuts and berries gathered, Then hid from common gaze. Bears and squirrels, others too, All settled down to sleep Wrapped in fallen leaves and moss, Their hiding place to keep. Perhaps midwinter they will snack On goodies from their store, And then they'll sleep away the hours Till Spring returns once more. Then waking up, they'll scratch and stretch And with many mighty yawns, They'll rouse themselves for days of fun As the bright, new Springtime dawns.

A perfect classic poem! Reminiscent of the poetry I fell in love with as a child, helping make me who I am. 7 for you!

Thank you, Maureen. I, too, remember the poems and stories of childhood. They are still a big influence.
