Here Comes Fall

July came while I was asleep; She laughed and ran through rivers deep. She rested under brilliant skies And used her time to make me wise. Silently, August crept into my dream; With sparkling diamonds on dappled streams; Her days were long and bright and wild; Her nights, calm as a sleeping child. Then the days went rushing away; Whirling and soaring with each sunray. Spinning and crashing into one glorious dawn; And when I awoke, summer was gone.

This poem is fantastic. I like the sounds of it. I love the last line: "And when I awoke, summer was gone."

Your poem expresses the passage of time well, your last stanza ends it beautifully

Summer does seem to fly by. Close your eyes for a second and it is gone. Lovely Tim
