Here Comes Fall
July came while I was asleep;
She laughed and ran through rivers deep.
She rested under brilliant skies
And used her time to make me wise.
Silently, August crept into my dream;
With sparkling diamonds on dappled streams;
Her days were long and bright and wild;
Her nights, calm as a sleeping child.
Then the days went rushing away;
Whirling and soaring with each sunray.
Spinning and crashing into one glorious dawn;
And when I awoke, summer was gone.
