Her Eyes Are Blue
Eyes as blue
As the sea
Or the sky
But the sea is so green
And it's seven twenty AM
Just look at the sky
Do you see?
Pale orange yellow
Grays and blues
Deep purple pink
Or a bright bloody red
Blue as the sea
Doesn't do justice
Catches the surface
And nothing much more
Not the murky navy deeps
Nor the crystal clear on top
Or the glassy green from far
Or the pale bubbly foam
Blue as the sky
Tells me nothing
Is it winter, gray and pale?
Is it spring, light and bright?
Is it summer saturated?
Or is it maybe fall?
And what about dawn?
And what about dusk?
Are they captured in
Her blue blue eyes?
And how can eyes
Be just one color?
Flecks of something darker and
Sprinkles of something else
Her eyes are not
Just as blue as the sky
Unless they are spring
Summer winter and fall
And the dawn and the dusk and
Her eyes are not
Just as blue as the sea unless they are shallow
And green, and far deep
