Heartache and Heartburn

Sometimes you must go through hell to find heaven it’s a trip everyone must take Making excuses is a spark that starts a lie a fire out of control ravaging the heart I got a million of them and yet no amount of tears can heal this burn Firefighters arrive at the scene only to find Only to find my smoldering heart So help me Lord my soul is on fire So free me Lord I’m so tired Can’t stop running with a burning heart Sometimes you must go through hell to find heaven it’s a trip everyone must take I’ve been down this road seven or is it eleven times Maybe more but that’s alright it’s been a strange trip anyway Her emotions were like an elevator I had no idea which floor I was on or off But I’m always been reminded by that look on her face when she slammed the door in my face realizing if I can’t break this habit this habit will break me again So help me Lord my soul is on fire So free me Lord I’m so tired Can’t stop running with a burning heart Sometimes you must go through hell to find heaven it’s a trip everyone must take it breaks me up burn’s me up love hurts It wasn’t her fault but that’s just me She gave me her heart I returned with heartache Heartache gives me heartburn And no amount of tears can put out this fire and firefighters always late only to shake their heads when all that remains are the ashes of my heart So help me Lord my soul is on fire So free me Lord I’m so tired Can’t stop running with a burning heart Frank Black Blacharczyk
