He Is a Rock In the Ocean of Life
15th March , Can you remember this day
“What?” he asked “why today?”
Our wedding anniversary,
He has forgotten as usual, I laughed.
Heard these questions thirty six times in the past
Like a peacock he never danced in the rain
No love songs sung no poems delivered
No chocolates or flowers for any birthdays
Candle light dinners? I cannot remember any dates
He is a Rock in the ocean of life
He never wipes my tears or cuddles me when I am in fear
But taught me how to hold them back and to be brave instead
Lift me from my fall and kept on an elevator
Paved my path not with gold but with fine sand
Showed me how to cast off the thorns in my path
He is a man of principals, and a walking encyclopedia
Romance is not in his blood, pettiness is his enemy
Gave me everything I need in this material world plus
Security, strength and wisdom a woman to sustain
