Happiness-Acrostic
Bedtime Stories
Here beside the glowing hearth, warmed by scents and sounds
All around rambunctious little ones settle upon the ground.
“Please!” they chime, “Just one more story, 'fore we go to sleep.”
Paternal affection engulfs my heart, emotions remarkably deep.
I softly offer one more tale, and grin at their youthful mirth.
No worldly wealth, no gems, nor gold; no treasures of Earth
Even on the best of days, compares to what they’re worth.
So frequently, from every clime, we’re told what "happiness" means,
Sometimes, though…I think we know, it’s in these little things.
