Hanging In Balance

Hanging In Balance ……. 5.20.13 Bleak depicting dreary was the landscape this spring morning peace of mind was still napping, yet to be awoken perhaps intentional, fate Time seemed frozen like a clock whose hands had stopped due to wear or loss of interest, daylight brought with her no promise of happiness only souls hanging in the balance weary, forlorn Lives radically changed without warning as pain, agony was surrounding this couple chosen by life’s cruel brush, now Dark skies overhead shield the orange orb from view, quietly taking all colors known leaving no trace as the blackness calls, beckons Deriving pleasure from tales told by fools quoting nothing short of evils callous reach, Gentlemen? Laugh stepping over sad faces, without hope. Love has lost this battle it seems or has been lost among the ashes, consumed by fire and death pained images fade, die Where have you gone my love? My Salvation? I cannot see you do you remember me? Blood and dirt cover my eyes swollen from bitter tears shed for thee, Peace tattered left vanquished. Believing once long ago of dreams smiling with passion and purpose, Maiden dressed in white summons me home to her bosom, pain be gone from this life full of empty promises. Tired of lies told by those deceitful man grows disillusioned slowly going over rock’s narrow edge, can he regain his balance? His footing? The answers unclear, not found. Faint green waves crash upon sands red with spilled decay, life or death? Decisions to be made? Will the Sun ever reappear to forgive the Darkness? © 2013 David Jerry Mitchell
