Giving Up
I don’t recommend setting boundaries inside your head.
Why would you even try to protect yourself?
When death and terror look you in the eye
Every single day inside you mind.
You wonder how long it took to put up this cage around you.
To protect you
From politicians, from neighbors, from loved ones…
How numb it has made you.
As a burning fire with no flames…
No warmth.
Your mind is a concentration camp.
When negativity parades through your mind
As invaders have claimed your body their land,
Attacking endlessly the self esteem that you have left.
Your mind has declared war against your body.
Vincent Van Gogh could have painted your smile.
For your face is painted with color
But the story behind the face…
The artist in your mind
Has gone one step beyond giving up
And all love is gone for his art…
Life.
So don’t try to stop me from going.
If I stay
I will be killed eventually anyway…
Like Hamlet
Awaiting the sword in the heart.
I can neither stay for my loved ones anymore.
I don’t want to poison them with my
Feelings
Thus I take my leave.
Who really loved your soul at the end of the day anyway?
