Gamblin' Man

Every battle has been fought Each and everyone was lost Looking back across the years Count the scars and count the cost There’s no winner in this war Yet, the loser lives to tell Of the good times and the bad Tales of heaven, tales of hell For this story’s never ending And the passion and the laughter They can wilt like precious flowers Or the pledge of ever after So I'll take me to the river Where the water’s cold as ice As the church bell tolls forlornly I will roll the final dice
