Frosted Windows
Gazing out at winter
Frost on the pane
Wishing for happiness
Laughter and not pain
Siblings in tears
Daddy drunk and mummy blind
No Santa to come this year
Only fear
Holding them close
Praying all to be right
We survived somehow
Mummy made not the night
The coppers took daddy away
We hid, then ran away
Come see us when we arrive in town
The circus is fun
Now we smile and don’t frown
We miss you mummy
We visit when we around
