From the Other Side of Life

The world is upside down it seems And as I stumble without light There's an old man laughing at me From the other side of life And there's a black cat stalking round my path With his nose out to the night His eyes look like they've seen the world From the highest mountain heights Where is that torch I am to carry? It scorched my hands; I let it go I am no light bearer for these people It burns too fast, they walk too slow! There's an old man laughing at me From the other side of life And I would trade my brown hairs with his grey For a word of his advice

Awesome poem, Kyle. You are wiser than your age, I think. Superbly done.

A very deep write, Kyle. Fools wouldn't trade youth for wisdom. I'd rather live short in the land of wisdom, than have a long life in the land of foolishness. Much wisdom in this beautifully crafted poem. Live long and prosper. May love light your path always.

Whoa! Profound write, my friend. I'm looking for that old man('s wisdom) too myself. (And I'm 67 already!!). Kudos! ~Gershon
