Friends In High Places
FRIENDS IN HIGH PLACES
So much for the laughs
Late night chats
Never ending teasing, and name callings
Like brothers and sisters of one
Like we were born at once
So much of tagging along
Long distance walking
But never having enough
One in trouble is all in trouble
One’s sad story is comedy for us all
But they that are always on the lookout
At every moment of our lives they are by our side
With so much care, never ending love
Never to care about where we are from
Never to keep a record of our flaws
For at a time wept
Out loud cried in agony
Of the piercings, stabbing scratching and heavy load
Slapped, splatted and denied on spotlight
But stretched out his arms to let the waterfall of his blood flow down
Without a thought of hesitation, no turning back he fulfilled it
At the cross up high they hanged a friend
The king who stepped to my place
The author of love and compassion
My friend from high places took my place
That slot was mine, the debts were mine
I never asked Him but he did it anyway
And now every second of my life I look unto Him
My very friend of high places
I cannot repay him but I just thank Him
And His smile brightens my way
My Friend Jesus
