Freedom For All

FREEDOM FOR ALL Birds can fly because they are free The same cannot be said for me I just want to spread my wings too Not always an easy thing to do I only want to be myself And put my worries on the shelf If you are different in any way Some people think that’s not okay Freedom comes in many forms It’s hard to be free if you don’t fit the norm People strive for freedom of speech Sometimes that is out of reach People want freedom to be who they are That door is only slightly ajar So near and yet so far Some freedoms are not on par I feel free on certain days Other times freedom feels far away There’s freedom in the poems I write A light for me that shines so bright When I write a song, I feel free too Writing is what I love to do Freedom can mean many things Reach for the feeling that it brings.
