Locked in his cell locked out of life He'd left behind a son and a wife What good their hopes their plans, their dreams in a cage for 7 to 21 years exchanged hope for schemes... A visitor for you, the guard said His wife there with her new fiance At the sight, he clutched his heart, dead Warden sighed ~ He'd freed up a bed

I am no fan nor supporter of those in prison. If I were, I would be volunteering in one. Like a woman’s prison! Manson and others deserve time in jail Hard cheese, as they say, if they miss out on life. Do we want rapists let out! From comments below,,seems that way. I love the movie the Shawshank Redemption, Gosh, just saw your exp as a guard! Awesome. Times have changed in prisons..in Ca, men say they are a ShE. Then sent to a womens prison and impregnate females! Oy!

It is a hard life Gershon both my brothers were Correction officers one still is and works for Homeland Security. The other worked for the State, boy could I tell you stories. Sad place to be my friend, many predators and gang affiliations mixed in with Mobsters, rapists, killers, etc.

Pretty interesting, Michael. You may have read my response to Shirley below... I too once worked in Corrections, just shy of two years, to pay for grad school... 'Sad' certainly is the operative word... Once in the system, never freed 'til dead -- with rare exceptions. Peace, gw

People forget how unglamorous prison is... I know.. In a previous life I was a prison guard. (Minimum Security Facility. Lucky me). Worked my way through grad school doing it. Hard to believe now. Stay Sane, Gershon
