Freak On the Street
Sure, tell me I’m wrong
But I’ll never belong
Too much or too little
Short or too long
In a moment of joy
I become too loud
I search for a path
To exit the crowd
Yet, often I’m sad
Though I fight to be glad
My behavior screams
“Ungrateful, she’s mad!”
Who wants her around
A pin dropping sound
I tried to deny, though
The answer’s been found
For all of my life
Daughter to wife
I preached about peace
But only found strife
I admit defeat
An offbeat fleet
Lost in the crowds
A freak on the street
