The fluttering of wings brings so much joy when I awake each day to watch the show. Excitedly, birds come to find the feast that happily appears for them to share. There at my sunroom window, it's such fun as I watch wings start fluttering around and hover till they find an empty spot to land inside the see-through feeder space. Beside the window, very close I see a mix of sparrows, cardinals, and wrens all patiently await with fluttered wings- and give each species time to feed alone. The eating space holds only two or three- and mating couples share the space as pairs. But still, some flutter over top to show they're next in line to start as others leave. But there's a thief that frightens them away! When Blue Jay flies in close, the panic starts; a cloud of fluttered wings takes off in flight! When he is gone- they circle back again. Aware their pleasures are so simply met by coming to my feeder every day- this morning ritual for me becomes- a joy that thrills my heart to flutter too!

I am very pleased that you enjoyed this poem, Arthur. I love my interaction with these birds. Wish I could have caught a real photo to post, but my camera just blurred the fluttering. Thank you so much for your kind comment. Sandra
