First Love

In this moment, I feel I can do anything; Soar high above the clouds, Touch the ancient stars, Inhale the fragrance Of the evening flowers And dance in the dew On the cool green grass. Time consents to linger As the magic is born, Then slips away quietly Leaving love's first kiss As a memorial gift. Only the ancient stars And the fragrant flowers Share the memory.

Hello Elisabeth - I had to check out your poem when I read the title. I've written a poem about my first love too. However mine deals with the matter from the extreme alternative - as it looks at the end of the relationship and from the perspective of a seventeen year old testosterone charged male. It was good to get an understanding of what might have been on her mind. Great write.

Thanks for your comment. I hope it helps to find out what the other half thinks! In any case, a First Love is always memorable and there is usually some good in it.
