Fall Fishing
Walk through the woods, a bright and bracing day.
October morn aglow with dawn's first light.
A narrow trail will guide me on the way
toward some pools where late-fall bass will fight.
The hike along this river is sublime.
Among bright colored groves of hardwood trees.
The waters trickle softly keeping time.
Alluring me with autumn's bold decrees.
The spots where waters flow past deeper pools,
are tranquil and they stir my fishing zest.
I tie a lure then free my line and spool,
to see if man or fish will prove they're best.
I tarry on this day not just to fish.
To wade such sparkling waters grants a wish.
