Faces of Storm

TROPICAL STORM midday darkness heavy rain pounds, winds howl--- trees topple as huts crumble EYE OF THE STORM blacked-out night eerie silence for miles--- dog whimpers and hide STORM’S AFTERMATH sun shines bright on full clotheslines for miles--- sad smiles from grief-stricken faces *To all those who prayed for my country, the Philippines, thank you. The typhoon changed course and only a small portion up north was affected. It is unfortunate however, that 2 people died due to electrocution, an effect no doubt of the storm. It is hard on the families of those who were killed in the storm..It must have been really hard on the family and friends of these two people..A shock even though one knows that storms can bring death..I feel for the people who lost homes and property as well..Great work telling about the storm..Thanks for the visit to my page..Sara

I like how each verse duely encompasses the light, atmosphere and consequence of the storm's evolution Kim. This poem inspires us to endure with pride, and teaches that sometimes grief and good fortune share the same face. I admire your skill with strong, concise poetry. I think that you love storms Kim...J.A.B.

G'day Kim... well portrayed in so few lines. These tropical storms must be frightening to be amongst, and then there is the heartache of destruction. Thank you Kim - Lindsay

"sad smiles from grief-stricken faces" WOW Kim... Compelling and mesmerizing portrayals of these devastating storms...I lived in Biloxi, MS and we got wiped out by Hurricane Fredrick in 1979...Now living in South Louisiana and have been through quite a few, including Hurricanes Andrew and Katrina so I identify well and Hurricane season is just around the corner here...

Beautiful. How well you portray the storm and its aftermath. Reminded me of Emerson's Snow storm. 7

It's very sad that we lose lives when ever natural disasters strike. I'm looking forward to a day when mother earth won't be so vicious. Lovely poem.......... Kim
