Faces of Jealousy: Plagiarism, Et Al

There is a devil they call Jealousy, he hides behind many faces you see: One is driven to envy, the next gets so haughty; and the other's made childishly bitchy. There is a demon tormentedly jealous, his ways that beguile are insidious. His wrath knows no bounds, he’ll destroy those around; his words aimed to hurt and quite callous. To one I give warning, still with some grace, the Jealousy devil who wears poet’s face: Enough with your thievery of fine prose and poetry; your plagiarized poems do not deserve space! 04 September 2015 SKAT A's Jealousy Contest

I'm with you Kim about Plagiarists. They are literary locusts who deserve to be Outed. Here's my take on those fraudsters; http://www.poetrysoup.com/poem/write_your_own_638697

I commend you for this honest approach to the wrongs done to many poets. I have had it happen to me. Someone even claimed my Constanza form and I told them if they didnt remove it I would take legal action. They removed it promptly. We have to fight back. Bravo on this wonderful deserving win!

Congrats on your first place win and putting it all out there. I wouldn't have known this is happening except for your poem. Our poems are a very personal reflection of ourselves and it's a shame someone else would steal that. Sad to recognize that there are people like that on PS. Hope community condemnation will chase them away. Well said, my friend. Great composition. hugs :) Janece

Great win Kim - hope the offenders read your excellent poem -it would be great if TPS could add 'plagerism' to the report button feature and you could do a link to where the poem is posted elsewhere. We must keep on reporting these people to TPS and hopefully they will take the appropriate action:-( hugs jan xx

People like Robert is talking about - I don't have words to describe them - such a shame they have to stoop so low to STEAL works of others but they obviously have no scruples:-( hugs Jan xx

THEY NEED THAT BUTTON REAL BADLY. STOLEN POEMS ARE BEING PRESENTED IN CONTESTS HERE AND ARE WINNING! Then the thieves when caught change their name and stay here posting! As did Jasmin Burbeck AFTER POSTING A 1970's song written by Shel Silverstein ,retitled Blowing in the wind. PLACED IN CONTEST WITH THAT STOLEN POEM! YET SHE CHANGED HER NAME AND STILL POSTS HERE.

Re your previous reply, Kim: No, I do not blame you for trying; on the contrary, I admire your 'diplomatic justice'. Squabbles among members, though unpleasant, can be ironed out, but plagiarism is a mortal sin which leaves a long lasting negative effect! Some of my poems have won prizes in competitions and been published in anthologies...but NOT under my name!! Could not get any worse than that! Hugs // paul

Dear Kim, nice you have thrown light on plagiarism...but its a shame on those who claim others work as theirs....literature or scientific journals....digital accessibility has triggered...and original writers may never know....i hope these robbers are pricked by their conscience....well done Kim! A 7! For the awareness..love, Anu:-)

Having your poems 'stolen' is like losing part of yourself, yet you manage to contain your reaction and instead even offer a second chance!! I am past that stage now...no more chances to those who have repeatedly sinned! This week I have found more than one poem abused of by a Soup member, and also found some of our Soup members' works plagiarized on other sites (I have been informing them personally). Am still trying to get one of mine taken down on DeviantArt. ~ hugs // paul

Sheesh Kim... I'm gobsmacked. Your limerick shows your disappointment and anger. I'm trying to figure out where the gain is in stealing poems; it's beyond me - regard - Lindsay
