Eyes are the Windows to the Soul

They say eyes are the windows to the soul, Hiding behind a facade taking its toll. Saying you're fine when you're anything but, In your mind, chaos beginning to strut, Behind a smile so bright, Masking the hurt that runs deep inside, Though laughter dances on your lips so free, Your eyes betray the tears that silently weep. I long to take your hand and clear the haze, To soothe the sorrow stretched along your face, But for now, I watch from afar, As love and pain collide in this dark space.

I felt the emotions of the narrator as my own. Your ability to bring out sadness, perspective and longing is commendable. Loved reading this. Much Blessings, Hiba.
