Waking every morning,
Heart beating in my chest,
Deep breaths taken and released:
I'm alive and I am blessed.
My eyes can see the beauty,
Of God's glorious creation.
His flora and His fauna,
Fill me with admiration.
My ears can hear the crickets chirp,
And a baby's fretful cry,
Children laughing as they play,
And the softest heartfelt sigh.
I can feel the sun upon my face,
And sand between my toes.
My voice can speak, my mind can think,
And I can smell a rose.
I tend to take for granted,
These "little" treasures of each day,
But should I lose a single one,
I'd be filled with much dismay.
So I choose to wake each morning,
And thank my God above,
For all these priceless treasures,
And especially for His love.
