Escape Into Life
When truth she swears, to ear alert to hear,
though lies she plies in patterns she can weave.
When stars you seek with eyes to suit a seer,
fake love she vows, to hearts that will believe.
When hope she sells, on drawings for the soul,
though no applause she cheers for roads you take.
When loud you hear the bell of success toll,
her vengeful tongue will wag, make no mistake.
Yet, when her rippling deluge drowns the brain.
recall the throbbing taste of her first kiss.
Then when her promise fails you once again,
escape into life, do not reminisce.
So, from the sweet of nature swill a taste,
let not, the rest of life such sweetness waste.
