Epiphany of Depth
my poor desultory heart depleting-
the hiding and seeking can never find
an epiphany of depth, repeating
all that life has given is defeating,
for the soft silent stars never aligned-
my poor desultory heart depleting
a bright myriad of moments fleeting,
grains of an unkind life have been designed;
an epiphany of depth, repeating
tempting hunger can’t keep me from eating,
for I am longing and wanting combined-
my poor desultory heart depleting
no winning or losing in competing,
this gamble in life has made my heart blind;
an epiphany of depth, repeating
craving remedies when there’s no treating,
o, if only I was not so confined-
my poor desultory heart depleting;
an epiphany of depth, repeating
