Engagement
It's necessary to proceed with a pledge,
to give our relationship a new edge.
No longer should we hedge.
I have a ring for you that I've been saving.
It's a flower crafted from diamonds,
and sterling silver.
It's a symbol of a unique love,
that didn't wilt or die.
When you agree to face life together with me,
the ring will become yours to safeguard and keep,
love awakening,becoming once again deep.
Apart, now a couple, on this memorable day,
Tasked now by a promise,
to become more,
then short term fun and play.
