'dust'

She has weathered the storm Lost so much and yet gained even more When she shook the dust of her feet After the shipwreck of their failed relationship She could even manage a little smile Just to know she gave her all But she didn't loose herself in the process The aim is always to love but also to remain true to who you are Not to loose yourself while loving Not screwing with your self-worth Is not always easy But damn she did it this time Even If she only have ashes on show of a love that was

That dust in piles all around. Old photos of past marriages that have moved onto a second helping. Oh the happiness in both but some have a far off look... Nice write, Wilma!

When we give our all to a relationship, we have a sense of achievement even if it fails. It is recognizing our self-worth that is most important and I admire the spirit of the woman in this poem. So nice to see you here again, Wilma. Hope live is being good to you! Love, carolyn
