Dusk
The gathered clouds of my life and the heavy drops of my memories have drenched me with reminiscing
The battle between my past and present collide at a cross road.
And my gone years seem so close but far
And not knowing what tomorrow holds no more
I sighed knowing the ancestors are close.
Give me time to reflect on my moments and my days
Give me time to say sorry to my past for my mistakes
And my present for my present state
Give me time to say goodbye to the good memories I made with my good friends have lost
And condemn my myopic future of its bleakness
Give me time to say cheers to my successes
And say to good times, I enjoyed all the pleasures
Give me time to reflect on the good friends I made
And how sweet and unforgettable our days lasted
Give me time to re-live the sweet moments of love
And how overwhelming it was to be loved
Today the last gun has been shot and my era is almost obsolete
I survived among the rest but yet still sad to be the last
We had come so far and for a moment we felt immortal
Save my undone years for my next life
And my pain and shame for never
People have passed on but not everyone lived
And am grateful and glad I lived
Before I breathe my last breath
And the ‘gong-gong’ of my passing fill the atmosphere
And the cry of my sons and daughters heard high
And the songs and stories of my life celebrated
On my knees I shout with every ounce of strength left
Give me time!
