Drowned
I keep my peace, though there is none
- Gelacio Y.Guillermo, The Returning Son
cold
i whisper to my palms
even more so to the waters
while i clench myself
like a stone
below this common ground
next to darkness
nobody knows me here
here
where daylight
prior to its savings leaves
no footfalls
but shadows
alone
stalk me
in silence captured by
the vacuum
pores of my body
preparing
for its earthly plunge
warmth
departs from my skin
and fur
like ripples on wave
blown sand as the hours
toss and turn
and twist
with all memories sunk
deep before
my thoughts go
numb
like ice
below this common ground
next to darkness
cold
i whisper
