Dreams of You
Come and share the night, for I am sleepless
in wide-eyed dreams of you and only you.
With all your charms, you lure the farthest stars
to gather near me, brightening my view.
Awake with you, my eyes have touched the sky,
each shooting star, the moon and Venus, too.
In sparkling dust, as evening embers glow,
I ask a timid dawn to bid adieu.
For if you leave come light, I’ll blame the sun,
If robins sing, then I will blame them, too,
and if come dawn, I finally fall asleep,
my dreams will be of you and only you.
