Dreams and Waters
Slow on a deep, broad river, or
so quick from clear, cool streams,
or swift o'er rock and boulder course
the waters of our dreams.
It must flow free, our vision life,
like waters that all blend
with toil and need and new thought seed
to find a worthwhile end.
No dream should be discarded, or
be shrouded from life's face.
Great genius and ideas first
were known in mind's free space.
And, seeing that all waters flow
to feed life and make whole,
we drink of dreams from deep, cool streams
then write upon life's scroll.
Perceptions true, which quench that thirst
we share though some deride.
If visions meet fulfillment they
live on and so abide.
And those who thirst for life and dreams
love drawing from that well
where hope, clear thought, and effort may
be seed and then in-dwell.
