Did You

Did you follow the sky and flower, opening like a rose to the sun at dawn? Did you rush like the crashing waves crush, crush, crush –it slapping the solemn shore knowing that the weight of something as light as water can move the earth? Working from a scaffold with your omniscient view did you tuck him and trim him here and there, measured out your coffee as you laid plans grandiose. Did you hear the music of the spheres, and take your cut of hope in the reflection in his eyes? Did you labor furiously? Building monumental temporary housing of love, a feedback an expectation, a knowing. Or did you just gather bone chips and Picasso smiles from a broken man?
