Dawning Dreams In twilight morn I watch you crescent moon With companion star looking down on you. Let sunrise hues seep into my soul soon To bathe in prisms caught in morning dew. Enchantment dwells upon my hilltop home As city lights extinguished with the dawn Has me singing too with the birds that roam In freedom's flight I build my dreams upon. The quiet of the dawning now gives way To the mundane tasks I must now complete, Yet, the beauty of this morning will stay Within my dreams as dusk and daylight meet. I'll carry with me images serene As I reflect upon my dawning dream. February 26, 2020

I watched the dawn again this morning and it gives me such pleasure to view the colors, feel the coolness of morning air, and watch and listen to the many varieties of birds that fly from tree to tree and speak to each other in song. Thank you so much for the fave and your lovely comment John. I truly appreciate it. Keep safe. xxoo

God starts our days off great with dawn then we must turn to the mundane - but that is as it must be. Nice sonnet!

Hello Connie … there are very few experiences as delightful as watching the eastern sky change colours as the sun takes over from the moon. Your sonnet is well written and enjoyable Connie - Lindsay

A most beautiful time of day, after being an early riser for forty years whilst I was at work, I saw many sunsets and never tired of them. Even now I wake early but tend to go back for an hour. Tom.

Despite Americana, Native Americans still rise to greet the dawn - certainly a better way to start the day than watching the news! I hope your poem will inspire others to actually get out of bed and enjoy the magic of the rising sun! Aloha! Rico

a perfect example of how a sonnet should be written Connie - I wish I could write dreamy sonnets like this but I struggle with the form - the difference between our 'mother tongues' and pronunciation make me smile as to my british ear I wouldn't rhyme dawn with upon but i know to your ear it is fine, another for my faves :-) hugs jan xx

Thank you so much Jan. I love the quiet just before dawn and then when the first bird songs begin. They spread their joy come rain or sunshine. I have not written that many sonnets so your compliment is very special to me. Thank you for the fave my friend. xxoo
