Dancing With a Corpse
One summer night
I went partying until late at night
Seating alone away from everyone
She came in the dark
Sparkling white in resemblance
Neatly dressed in her colourful clothes
She took me by surprise when our eyes collided
She was in need of a companion
Then I asked her for a dance
She was fragile
Cold as ice in my arms
I had to be brave and ask, who are you?
As we moved to the beats of our hearts
She cracked, split open like an egg shell
Then said with a gentle voice
I'm a woman who's been through a lot
My life story is unremarkable and hollow
Nothing seems to excite me
But with you is different
The size of your heart is big enough to keep me in it
The gentleness of your hands
Assures me that you'll never break my heart
And your dance moves cast out all my doubts
Not to fall in love with you
From that moment I felt her warmth
I could feel the corpse resurrect
Her soul gaining momentum again
We cuddle throughout the night
Reflecting to our achievement for the night
Falling in love all over again.
