Creep
Outcast,
undesirable,
contemptible,
creep.
Mantra of a man
spurned by humanity.
Shadow in the night
of darkest mist.
Watching,
waiting,
to ply needed intent.
Long is lost
the desire to interact.
A missing puzzle piece,
a void.
Seen but unseen,
a dour color of drab.
A whisper
in the voice of the crowd.
Steal what is needed
no remorse held.
Hunger and thirst
fill the empty pocket.
Kick of a mongrel dog
in passing.
Scratch of a knife
through new car paint.
Cold glare,
sneer devoid of teeth.
Extended grime covered hand
in false beseech.
Covered in rags,
the stench of dark alley.
Scavenger,
beggar,
thief,
way of life.
Man floats as dust
on shifting wind.
Motes drift to top,
by chance or choice.
Some find balance
a median richly filled.
Yet others lowly settle,
there ever to creep.
