Contentment

Stretched out on a hill of grass Gazing at the heavens passing above Diamonds shimmering across the black velvet sky Glittering , burning , fire and ice , content To lie there not knowing what it all meant A meteor shot across the milky way And mighty Orion pointed the way Still I lay , watching the sky For signs of change,, But none came , so I lay content not knowing what it all meant

this is so beautiful. I am glad to meet a new poet whose poetry I like so much. And I am impressed to see that you kno the past tense of "to lie" is "lay" because I do not always seeing poets knowing that!!!
