Close Action Camera Shot

Don’t always blame the little kids for being silly with their fun. I was up near Dargo once. You should have seen what one bloke done. He weren’t a kid by any means but he really was a flamin’ fool, as I watched him in an instant quickly learning one bush rule. He was wandering ‘round and taking photos of distant scenery, then I watched him photograph the ground, near a patch of greenery. At the time I didn’t know a tiger snake was basking in the sun. This bloke had photographed it and should have left when he was done. But no; he wasn’t happy. He had to go and find a stick to intimidate the tiger. You know some blokes are thick. I could see what he was doing now; he wants to take a snap of the snake in its striking pose. So he gave the snake a tap. He held the camera to his face and he’s about four feet away. The tiger’s having none of this. This bloke’s not far enough at bay. He was shaking like a leaf, needing a visit to the men's, but would have had a lovely shot - of the fang marks on his lens.

Some youngsters are so daring ! They invite trouble. I knew something unwary was going to happen and was holding my breath . Thank God the snake left fang marks only on the lens. Great narration, Lindsay!

Hello Valsa ... fooling around with a snake, especially a tiger snake for the perfect action shot is insanity. These snakes are grumpy and highly venomous, so dangerous - thank you Valsa - Lindsay

Yes, leave well alone, but no, there is always 1 or is that 2 or more. As usual your poetry stories, not only entertain, but are a learning curve as well. Keep Well my friend.

The young bloke is lucky it was the lens and not the legs...lol It's the temptation of daring as a young bloke that teaches them life lessons. Enjoyed! ~CM

Hello Charles ... I guess when we are young we think we're ten foot tall and bulletproof but we won't get old if we tease venomous snakes. There is a lesson here Charles - Lindsay

Oh Man! Actually served him right and hopefully taught him a lesson he won't forget. Even Steve Irwin warned us not to try what he was doing because he was an expert. Great write here Lindsay you are a first rate story teller and I always enjoy reading your stories. God Bless and stay well. JB

Hello Janice ... and this action is stupid based on ignorance. I'm pleased you enjoyed this action of a fool though - Lindsay

Hi Lindsay. Vivid images. Man teases nature, thinks it's a game. He sees himself as master of nature. Now he gets it in the eye. But will he learn the lesson? I doubt it. Tony

Hello Tony ... yes, many people believe wildlife should bow to their demands, and it it reacts want it destroyed. For example; swimming in the ocean with a black wet suit. To a shark, it's a seal - thank you Tony - Lindsay

Some people think they know it all, it's as if they are playing Russian Roullette. We had friends over for a braai and were under our Gazebo. A bad storm was brewing, so thought we would move onto the more enclosed Verandah one lady, said she wanted to watch the storm. The storm came - suddenly there was lightening and thunder all at once and a tree behind her split down the trunk, i had never heard anything like it before. A lucky lady was she that day! Enjoyed your poem lots. Hugs, Jenn

Hello Jennifer ... snakes can be unpredictable so leave them be. Had a similar storm experience once when fishing. Same thing; thunder and lightning together and smoke began rising from the forest behind me. Never had such a fright like that before - thank you Jennifer - Lindsay

I have seen similar events many times but the fangs never struck the lens . . . . One of the dumbest things I ever did was stick my foot over a sleeping rattlesnake to see how close I could get to it before it woke up . . . . . .

Hello Tom ... blasted Tiger Snakes! A bite from one can destroy your nervous system if it doesn't kill you first. This was a foolish act Tom - Lindsay
