Christmas On a Tree Lot
One Christmas Eve
On a small tree lot
Sat the last ragged few
That had not been bought.
One little guy
Missed his mom and dad
And asked those around him
For advice they had.
First a Blue Spruce
Forlorn as his name
Said, “We’ll never get out.
Recession to blame.”
A Sugar Pine
Sweetly shook her head.
“Why I declare my boy
Forget what he said!”
“Ach, me wee one,”
Said a tall Scots Pine.
“Have ye faith in Christmas
And ye’ll be just fine.”
A Bishop Pine
Boughs crossed in a prayer
Asked one from a manger
To help them all there.
They saw a light
Then Noble Pine states,
“We’re all bound for a church!
Merry Christmas mates!”
