Ccr Tribute
CCR TRIBUTE
Flew to California.
Lost my plane ticket.
No way outta here.
Stuck in Lodi Again.
Drove in to town to
buy some double A’s .
Found a Walgreens
Down on the Corner.
Needed a place to chill
rented a pad in the hills.
Could see Lodi’s lights
Lookin’ out my backdoor.
Heard the long loud rumbling
Felt the swaying and shaking
Could this be a sign?
There’s a bad moon on the rise.
Decided I had to leave town.
Rented a real beater.
Finally found a gas station
Up around the bend.
I had no cash for gas
Lost my credit card too
Not rich enough for a tab
I ain’t no fortunate son.
No cash, no card, no gas
Guess I’ll have to thumb a ride.
Had plenty of Hershey bars to eat
I guess I’m a sweet hitchhiker.
The day I started thumbing
gray, dismal clouds were weeping.
I shouted to anyone near
Who’ll stop the rain.
