Carissa Nalani

Even at the age of three years old her eyes held promise of a poetic soul in her amazing observations; in her delighted exclamations of the wonders of nature, astounding her grandmother by saying "OMG, look how the water sparkles in the creek!" 17 May, 2020. This was written for Nette's contest that closed before I could enter it.

If only we could look at the world like the eyes of a child. Only three and is observant of the surroundings. Nicely written. Hope all has been well with you and your family is all healthy. We are doing good and staying close to home. love phyl

It is a pleasure to be rereading this delightful poem,Connie. Carissa's impressive exclamation is so natural, and yet so unexpected of a child that age. No doubt, she has inherited her poetic genes from you :) I hope she will make good use of them! ~ Warm regards // paul

Poets notice beauty in things others miss Paul so I think she may enjoy writing poetry one day. She loves reading my poetry to me in the picture poetry book I made for her. Thank you. Blessings xxoo

Hello Connie … perhaps the genes have been passed down Connie. It's great to know someone so young is beginning to see the world as it is and not the plastic version - thank you Connie - Lindsay

She sees the beauty in everyday things so I hope you are right. She told me she wants to do three things when older, be a photographer who travels, a scientist and a nurse. I love photography which all my children love so I am sure she will follow her dreams like I did. Thank you Lindsay. Blessings xxoo

Children always want to emulate their caregivers but I do feel she has a real interest in poetry. I read her a poem I wrote about the sand man and she made me read it to her 10 times in a row before she could read. Thank you Vijay. xxoo
