Butterfly Wings

Like a butterfly who has gained its wings, I long to fly, To stretch out my arms and just fly, To fly higher and higher until the sunlight glitters in my eyes, Until the countries below are just small shapes, and the wild oceans sparkle like pools of water in the afternoon sun. I long to swoop down and glide the breeze, Ride the wind as only a seagull can, And I long for the craziness of this world to be so small, I can block it out, hide it with my thumb, To be able to still see, This bigger, beautiful wonderful picture of hope, Way below.
