Part of a 30 day journey, during which I explored, in poetry, my feelings and emotions, inside the context of a romantic relationship.

I could have cried the rest of my life Sunk in hurt, fear and pain, trouble and strife I want you so much and I'm here to say That I wasn't ready, when I pushed you away I had to say those words and lock you out Was on my life quest, to see what I'm about Had to hurt you and had to hurt me To climb through the pain and set myself free I've been on a journey, holy god was it tough Alone, isolated, my path sharp and rough And yet it was worth it, because I have grown To love, and allow the true me to be known I fought my battle, victorious I stand Let go of my past, a triumphant man Hold hands with my demons, free, loving heart I open my arms, I'm now ready to start I know you've been fighting a battle your own Through blood, sweat and tears, you fought and you've grown As you stand here before me, I look in your eyes I see honor, strength, grace, and feel butterflies I know I am standing in front of a knight Who'll protect me forever and do what is right My heart is pounding, my eyes well with tears We've fought for each other for all of these years We move closer now, lips touch slowly, we kiss Tingling energy, bodily bliss "We" have arrived and our love is ignited As we stand eye to eye, joyous souls, hearts delighted
