Broken Shadows
Unrecognizable
Her face
once the harborage of beauty
Unblemished
Soft, alabaster skin
Cheeks heirs of royalty,
Lips, the essence of rose
Blue eyes
More profound than the sea
A never-ending smile
Serenaded my heart
Tonight
Her face,
Unrecognizable
Eclipsed by the ravages of Hell’s Dust
Her addiction hides behind the
Broken Shadows
Beneath her brutal eyes
Lost colors
Reveal endless abuse
Her cheeks transformed
Now, shallow hills
Decry lost royalty
Once ruby lips
Cracked and bloodied
Divulge unspoken lies
She was once
All of me
My purpose
My wisdom
My love
Unrecognizable
Her smile forever lost
Behind the Broken Shadows
