at the tail-end of a question, intense suspense builds, and builds... about to reach its climax and explode like a tossed grenade. a s p h y x i a t i n g, fear of rejection; that clings to him like a barnacle... as he waits desperately for what feels like an eternity... to hear the answer in which the foundation of dreams sits upon. each second, a torture; anxiously a n t i c i p a t i n g one word....YES!

I can very well relate to this. If we anticipate something and put a question, we long for a positive response or answer. Between the question and answer, time drags and tension builds. If a proposal is placed before the lady love, the more the answer gets delayed, the greater will be the tension. That moment of tension is powerfully caught, dear Edward.
