Blurred Pep Rushes
To wake up early happily merged with morn
while full of pep rushes as sun energy surged,
was to feel my anticipation and joy fully merge
to best seize each day as its unfolding occurred.
Early mornings held no unreasonable stress -
in fact, I danced right into my dress or pants.
Then my full adult arrived compressed by
unyielding, demanding and dictating schedules
that blurred all morning glee as if it never were,
but I did love them so I kept their soothing truth.
How often I regret that I just can’t do them and
left them with all of me that seems so long ago.
