Blind and Can Perceive

Ms. Quibble was remarkably aware, although she was long blind. Notably, she had a sharp memory and a very clear mind. She had long been able to perceive beyond her eyes. Many keen mechanisms she cleverly devised. She routinely detected when someone entered a room. Maybe she is not that blind; some would presume. There were people she knew who wore the same cologne or perfume. When some entered and did not yet speak, she could detect with ease, Their identity by the clink of their walk or the chime of their keys. When people questioned she would reply, with a wink, "I see a lot more than most people think." Barbara Campbell Contest: Mixed Senses 09/14/15

Hi Barbara. Very nice poem and a pleasure to read. I have a blind friend that I really don't see very often, but when I do he always says. "Nice to see you, you don't look any different than the last time i saw you. He has a great outlook on life and can see far more than many of my sighted friends. Thanks for sharing, my friend.... Robert.
