Bird Feeder

built for a greater purpose offering age old seeds for free an oasis between branches positioned for all to see flocks congregate and listen singing with hunger and fear they gather up a healthy harvest then scatter away with cheer filled to serve all year long never struggles or complains bravely emptying their vessel clear an endless source remains soon their birds will migrate home a perilous path my friend signposts that help along the way giving to the end

Just loved everything about your poem, from the 'oasis' of the first stanza to the 'signposts' of the last...And I'm a big fan of taking an ordinary, 'unsung' object/thing and depicting its extraordinariness---which you've done superbly here. Congrats on a well-deserved trophy!! Best wishes, Gershon
