Between Memories

My day has passed, it has gone back in time. I can't reach it to keep it by my side, longing to hold it in the palm of my hands. I cried for my Day but it didn't answer me, whispering a prayer to see it one more time. Opening my eyes a light was glimmering through the Dusk. Then the beauty of a sunset appeared. Drawing near I reached my hands and pulled back some hope. A ray of hope. A piece of light fell from it and I could see the love and family that were with me in my Day. I opened my hand until it was filled and put Day in between the memories. At the Dusk of my life I take them out ever so careful and hold them ever so close, that nothing can slip back into time. When the Night is over and a new Day has begun in the place where time never ends and God is the Light and Day, my heart will be opened and Day will shine through. I won't need memories. My Day hasn't passed, it still lingers.
