She has the promise to excite a man's imagination and the expectation she's too giddy to foil. Similar to a gargoyle, but something makes me question how statuesque - with the way she's entangled in herself like a pair of headphones left abandoned in a jean's pocket. Her complex nature tiptoes between beauty and villainy: a damsel in distress that I'd have doubts about saving. Should I hold her hand with affection? Kiss her lips with seductive glee? Or slip away into the blanket of the night with my life and dignity still intact. Written February 29th, 2016 For the Visualize, Scrutinize, and Remark Contested hosted by Forever Malta

I love your observational mind here... the simile with the earphones in the pocket, and "Similar to a gargoyle" Stood out as well. (because I thought something similar, and I think it has to do with the color of the photo too and her intense stare) Very interesting, "a damsel in distress that I'd have doubts about saving." I reeeeally like that line. It sure is an interesting pose, and I love your take on it. Last two lines are gold. Always, Laura

Thanks Laura! 'Twas an interesting challenge trying to describe the photograph. It's not a pose you see very often ... and it gives you mixed feelings (probably more so being a man ... lol).

Questions. Hesitation. Life sometimes has so many regrets no matter what decision we make.

Very true, Frank. This is where priorities come to the table ... regrets causes stress on the mind.

oh I LOVE how you did this. Wait till I post mine. Yours is like a man's view that goes along with my woman's view, but yours is better executed!!

A weighty decision Tim. I would go with my gut. But she is tempting.

Thanks Suz! Only four spots will be accepted so who knows ...? But I'm happy for the inspiration, nonetheless.

I kept thinking about this poem and realised how beautifully you have crafted your work....''.and expectations she's almost too giddy to foil..''..simply outstanding and nerve wrecking...( my opinion )

An interesting poem..Almost like a tempting apple on your plate..One that can be rotten or extremely ripe. Its about risking or not risking .Its about decisions that might mean pleasure or pride.Love it.

You read it very well, Charmaine. The photo inspired mixed feelings, and thus the poem ended up with a feeling of standing at a crossroads.

So the omnipresent to be or not to be? Anyway, for general readers like us it is a delightful poem. Beautiful personifications.
