Beginning Of An End
I'm picking up the signals
your friends try not to send.
Here it comes around again
the beginning of an end.
The happiness I thought I found
I prayed so it would last.
Then came a cry from nowhere,
somewhere in someones past.
It seems I had a secret
that I tried so hard to hide.
There's nothing that's more dangerous
than the lie that's been implied.
If only you could take the time
to take a second look.
For always and forever
I've been an open book.
The very thing I hoped to find
I've gone so long without.
Now the seed's been planted
for the shadow of a doubt.
So often times it happens
when push comes down to shove.
The pain that never goes away
someone hurts you with their love.
I've shared my sins and secrets
nothing left to hold within.
Still easier believing them
looks like they win again.
